Amanda has been part of the equestrian world since she was 7 years old. All it took was the offer of horseback riding lessons after school at a local barn and she fell in love with horses and riding. Amanda quickly learned that being at the barn surrounded by horses was a place where she felt at home. Throughout her riding career Amanda has competed in all three rings however, it was Hunter ring that became her first love.
During her younger years Amanda attended many shows on the Greater San Diego Hunter Jumper show circuit winning year end titles and medal finals on her show horse “Why I’m Famous” whose image is the Huckleberry Lane Farms logo.
Amanda also competed on the “A” show circuit and availed herself of the many opportunities she had to catch ride horses for other trainers. In college, Amanda rode on the UCSD Equestrian Team in the Open Division and enjoyed the unique challenges presented by the competition format of riding horses brought by the other teams.
Amanda is a well respected professional in the equestrian field. As a professional in the sport, Amanda believes that there is always something new to be learned or skills to improved upon. She is grateful that she has had the opportunity to ride with and learn from many well known, knowledgeable trainers in the equestrian world. Amanda enjoys training horses for the ring and sharing her extensive riding experience with her students. It is her willingness to learn and perpetual desire to increase her knowledge that allows her to offer the level of expertise that she does to her students, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed for their journey to being accomplished horsemen and horsewomen. Amanda’s innate ability to understand the horse and nurture the talent of her students has proven to be the formula for success.
